Introduction

Bunnamagoo wines are the result of an interest by members of the Paspaley family in artisanal winemaking and boutique wine production. Skillful winemaking and quality fruit have resulted in award-winning wines that receive consistently high ratings from critics. The grapes are sourced from Paspaley’s two Central Ranges vineyards in New South Wales: The high altitude vineyard at Bunnamagoo, a historic property near Rockley; and the Eurunderee vineyard, not far from Mudgee.

While the meticulous methods and judgements of European artisans have been followed, local conditions mean the results are without direct equivalents in other countries and results in truly memorable wine.

Bunnamagoo received a 5-star rating in James Halliday's 2014 "Australian Wine Companion", with James Halliday describing Bunnamagoo as "an outstanding winery...Producing wine of a very high quality". Additionally, the Bunamagoo Estate Wines Chardonnay was most recently selected to be served on Qantas International Business Class flights - another reason to try these award-winning wines.

The Winery and Cellar door

The Bunnamagoo winery and cellar door is nestled amongst the vines at Eurunderee, on Henry Lawson drive, 6 km from the Mudgee town centre. The modern, state of the art winery processes over 500,000 litres of juice each year, with the intention of retaining as much natural flavour of each grape varietal as possible before the winemaking process begins.

Then the wines are given the vital ingredient so often omitted in modern wine-making: time. Time to slowly mature and develop before bottling and release.

The procedure is as far as possible from factory methods, with each decision – from the timing of harvest to the time of release – being made with a view to ensuring the integrity of the wine. Each of the wines is released in very small quantities. The vintages regularly sell out and may be hard to find.

The cellar door is adjacent to the winery. Open to the public 10am-4pm every day, we invite you to come and try some of our award-winning wines today.
